Engine and Turbine rooms

Engines and turbines at the moment look like they're attached by effectively toothpicks.
Engines take fuel so it is implied they're internal combustion (jet?) engines, but they're quite small considering this. Turbines don't even use any fuel but obviously have an engine to power the rotor.
They don't come across as believable in their structural connection, or that they could believably house the mechanics to do their job.

Suggestion is to attach these devices to a room module that will provide a structurally believable support as well as house the functional components for these devices.
The rooms could additionally provide slots for upgrades to these devices to improve certain characteristics. Example upgrades could include lightning surge protection, decreased fuel consumption, increased power and increased capacity.
