Radar upgrade - ability to highlight selected locations only
There are a lot of different location icons and I would like to be able to choose any given location type so it is highlighted somehow on a radar, so I can set my course properly.
It would help me not only with going directly to a desired location but also cleaning radar to some extent from locations I don't want to visit / see on it at all.

Once installed, play can interact with the radar can even set waypoints/Beacons.
I was going to say part of the PDA, but then that would beg the question, why is not part of the players HUD -

Kurasu MergedI would love the ability to click on the radar and mark a specific location, which would then show when you start to fly the ship (I.E. when you engaged with the rudder or maybe even just when standing in/looking through a cockpit).
While I'd love for this proposed HUD to be able to highlight all locations, for the purposes of balance and game performance, it would probably be best if it simply highlighted a single 'flag' on the map, allowing you to keep eyes-forward flight in a specific direction to get to a certain point (for instance, marking off a '?' that you hadn't been to so you can go to it without having to look back and forth). -

ImahilusI'd argue that the current radar device does not have the visual real estate to accomplish this.
A companion map table, one that could zoom in and out as well, would work brilliantly for this.
More visual real estate would allow you to actually plan a route between towers instead of just setting a singular heading. -

zach Mergedespecially when just starting out the radar screen can be awkard to see maybe have it so it angles the top of the screen back at an angle so it can be better seen on angled cockpit window or mountable to the flight controls

Rider of DarkWe have two new areas now that the combat beta is live. This crowds sections of the Location Radar even more, depending on how things have generated. A filtering mechanism is more desirable than ever before due to this. When enough local towers are close to each other, it's difficult if not outright impossible to sort through the list and see what's where.

Michaelanglo1. A larger radar, as well as the icons. Maybe just make the radar adjustable.
2. Radar should be able to show which one I've explored.
3. Nn improved radar to highlight selected location in radar and also in game world(such as like a beacon). -

Aldermac MergedAn advanced Radar that is Bigger to view. Or maybe an addition to the flight control panel so we can chart where we want to go a bit easier

jfwking MergedHello there. Is it possible to either have a larger radar screen or to have a post or structure to hold it so people like me can actually see it in detail without having to place the console right next to it and not in the middle of the cockpit.
Thanks.

CyberPunkUncle MergedAdd the ability to mark points on the radar and/or any future map. This will allow players to eliminate confusion on main missions/side locations that they have either fully explored or need to go back to.
As of right now, I am missing a few items from certain locations, and I have no idea how to find these locations again. Aside from just going in a certain direction and hoping I'm going the right way, all while simultaneously waiting for said location to pop up on my radar IF I'm close enough.

Parson_Brown MergedMake the location radar upgradeable so that when you upgrade it, you can now expand the location radar to actually show places marked by their names.

Ethan MergedThe radar stays the same...BUT.....if you place more radar panels directly next to each other (say a grid like pattern) the map gets bigger! Perhaps even allow for zoom in and out.
The colored arrows under icons help, but a clear view of the blue icon would be so much better i feel. -

Cirdan MergedIt would be great (and would have saved me many hours) if the Quest locations would be permanently marked on the minimap. The icons should be easy to recognise, always on the side on the radar, even if you are not near it and have the option to be disabled when you interact with the radar.
You should also be able to set markers yourself and decide at least a colour for the pin. Later it would be nice to also be able to give the marker a short name and description. -

Tina Kershner MergedCurrently I remove the batteries from the flashing towers to mark where I have been but sadly, at least for me, they still keep blinking making it confusing for me to know where I have already been and have not been. Especially if I step away from the game for several days. I basically find myself revisiting spots I have already been, and I know this because the battery is missing.

Greg | Community Manager Admin MergedRemove batteries from locations, it will grey out the location on your radar so you know you've been there.

JamesI would appreciate something as small as a toggleable legend to the Radar if interacted with. Just as a quick reference if I, frankly, come back to the game.

robdunf MergedI think there are other requests for upgrades to both of these items, but I couldn't find one that did this, so posted separately.
At present, along with many other players based on images and streams, I place the RADAR system on the cockpit glass. I can look up to view the RADAR then decide my direction. This works well until you build larger ships, or use the inverted cockpits.
A solution for this could be merge the Helm and RADAR into a single, upgraded, item. Perhaps seated with a cut similar to the medical bed.
This could be a side quest about a team of engineers trying a new style of airship that set off on its maiden voyage, ending in a disastrous crash into the dust. You find the original plans in a large ship building area (new area), but need something to scan, so you start your quest. This ends up under the dust, in a second crash site area.
Maybe not as extreme as the images attached, but close to it and still fitting in the game. -
