  An alternative will be added in the future. We had to remove Sticky Notes because Shortly after adding co-op, we had a few reports of players writing offensive and crude language to other players. To protect the player base, we have no choice other than to remove them for now. They will be replaced with a new system soon. We're sorry about this

  Having the option of renaming your storage box, so when you hover over it, it gives the name of what you placed inside it. for example: Storage box renamed to Food Supplies or components, then when you are searching around your storages and you hover over each one, the name [Food Supplies] or [Components] you renamed it too shows up on your HUD display.

  You can print out sticky notes that you can label and put on your boxes, but yeah I would like to be able to label my boxes or have different variants of said boxes such as a red, green, yellow, orange, blue, purple, pink, etc colored box to stay organized.

  I would really like storage box/cabinets (or what ever storage I have yet to unlock ;-) to have a way of visually labeling them. I could be an unlockable research.

  Greg, can we get upgraded storage boxes with integrated displays like the ones on the upgraded auto-extractor (filtering deck extractor)? If theres gonna be more than the 5 icons on the deck extractor, it would be easier to allow the paint tool to set the icon. Conversely, I think the paint tool could have a tab where you could choose a paint scheme or icon to apply to the storage box to visually identify the content category. It would help performance more than using sticky notes. The sticky notes are a good stop gap option, but they are sized strangely for the box and they interfere with the box often.

  A common feature in these types of games. Let us customize storage units so we can label them as Metal or Equipment or Seeds, etc...
  Also give us the ability to change the color of individual units, which would make it easier to organize things (most games like this I not only label storage but color them based on what's in them, which makes it easier to remember where things are without having to specifically check labels.

  If we can't have actual writing, then a large list of symbols to choose from (like icons of the various materials) along with being able to color the unit itself would be the next best thing.
  
  So we might not be able to label something Metal, but instead we can just label the locker with the icon for Metal.
  Should be simple enough.

  I don't know if the team of Far From Home saw my previous message on Steam, In any case, I'm so glad to see that the sticky note was added back!!! However, this sticky note is not as convenient as before. Only a few categories can be cyclically switched, I means that switching only these categories is far from enough. The original sticky notes were free to input text! You might imagine that build a huge airship with many rooms or passage with out guideboard?It's really going to get lost right?It could also be that what I said before on Steam was not comprehensive.Sticky note not only fulfill the role of item classification,It can also be a nameplate, road sign, warning sign, etc. You can think of anything with text.So we urgently need a sticky note that allows us to freely input text, just like before！Please~

  We had to remove them for several reasons, mostly legal reasons, age restrictions and that the game is on Playstation. Here is a summary I posted on Steam forums a few weeks ago:
  
  We are bound by certain limits to talk about legal matters, and Steam forums are not the best place to do so. Let's leave that aside and get to the core of the problem. I've been told I can share the following with you - we basically found ourselves in a bit of a dead end regarding Sticky Notes. It is a result of a few bad decisions made early on in development and it’s also connected to the fact that the game is also available on PlayStation. That's all I can share as to why they were removed.
  
  We're working to get out of this situation and also trying to make it possible for you guys to label up your storage. The sticky notes will get better.

  As an alternative to the limited text options the Notes currectly have (and I understand why freely editable text is not an option), why not turn the Sticky Note interaction into an item slot which can hold any items, which then has it's UI icon displayed on the Note. Would make organizing your storage very satisfying.
