Repair gun damage radar need a bit of love

The repair gun as a damage radar to help locating damage section but I found it sometime frustrating when you have multiple level on your ship so could we repalce the rotating small gear circle to small circle that are spit in 3 part ( top, middle, bottom) that would indicate more precisely where the damage is, like ceilings/level above, current level, floor/level below.
A sonar like bleep to help you navigate better could also help.
