Hydroponics
It is kinda strange that we are freely splashing around water on the airship via sprinklers, especially as the water is contaminated.
May be pretty late for a suggestion like that, but what about a further developed food gain system (maybe for foods that don't hurt us raw) via hydroponics that only work with clean water? So that we end up with a set up where we take in dirty water and send it through an automated filter so funnel into a hydroponic 'clean' water system. Maybe for more sensitive late game foods/plants that need proper isolation from the 'normal' contaminated plants. Maybe also hooking into the weakened immun system.

Epsilon RoseHonestly, I'd be down for almost any system that made it so we aren't spraying dirty water into our ship's interior. Also, Hydroponics systems can be pretty simple, in real life. Going by my Aero Garden it might even be easier to set one up than the current system of separate pots, presumably with soil or some other planting medium, and ceiling mounted sprinklers.
I was actually a bit surprised to find the pots weren't piped for water when I first saw them.
