Workshop, Mods, Custom Maps/Locations, Map editor
The ability to add custom points of interest, or modded maps, or any custom content and to be able to easily download it from the Steam workshop. The ability to be able to create custom locations/maps, custom items, furniture, weather, generation, scripts etc.
Custom content can greatly add to the experience. Games such as Skyrim, Mount and Blade, RImworld etc. have thrived off of custom content.

The game IS built in UE 4 so Modding shouldn't be THAT difficult, even if FFH never decides to officially support them. Man I need to learn how to Mod myself lol. -

MikeBeen reading negative reviews that the world is too sparse, locations too similar, random gen not random enough. Made me think of Viscera Cleanup, also uses UE4, and they incorporated ways to use the Unreal Editor to make entire new maps. So the devs open it up to allow custom towers, set X amount of "blank spaces" in the world where modded towers can spawn, and we help fill the world. I'm sure the community could help write up guides on how to do it.

voidedzreaperAfter recently purchasing this game, I've had a similar idea to this, there could be some restrictions integrated if need be, Such as:
1: when making a new POI in the map editor you have to choose the 'location type' (choose between underdust, overgrown tower, coms tower etc) and have a few of the items restricted so that you cant create a coms tower with all the wreckages on to bypass inbuilt progression.
2: size limitation in the editor so that people dont make the areas too big or complex as this could cause issues when attempting to load the area
There could also be the ability to make a 'static base' type of location which could allow for limited building on whilst in game and could be used as a rest stop / semi depot so that you can store items in it whilst attempting a complete rebuild/redesign of your ship. This could be a limited access point which falls away once you leave so your incentivised to take everything away with you rather than make a complex base to go back to.
