Lightning Rod
Some form of a lightning rod that can absorb the damage of a lightning strike.
Could add power at a later date to a larger ship battery if something like that is added.
Can only withstand 4 lightning strikes and needs to be repaired. Minimal materials needed for the repairs (more cost effective then repairing ship)

Sativa SarakiHad a similar idea.. wrecked battery charger.. upgradable too. Electric cell (resisting using the battery word as we already have the solid state/crystal) crafting for the engines.. charged from the lighting rod, possibly also wrecked scanner type, upgradable. Once rod is attached maybe also lessens the damage to the ship if struck. Or a Faraday cage type thing for a section of the balloon also channeling power to the charger.

overkil Mergedjust like the one before us that have invented the lightning rod because they had enough of their stuff getting destroy by lightning.
we should be able to ground our ship to a near by structure to direct the lightning strike to the ground.
i would say it is an attachment that can be place on the cat walk then shot a grabbling hook to a building or nearby structure, then it void all storm damage, you cant move too far or it would disconnected.
the blue print should be in the stage of the game i think around the time where you were introduce to the storm and found some coper? -
