Ability to set engines' thrust to a fixed levels.
Instead of locking ship's speed manually, player could set engines' thrust to fixed values like 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full. It will make tower approach and landing more smooth and satisfying.

HareBiditI suggest making it work like that: you press and hold W button - speed increases, you release the button - speed stays at the value it increased to, you press and hold S button - speed decreases, you release the button - speed stops decreasing and stays at the speed it decreased to. Simple as that.

Technik_Kalitythe above comment, but have it pause briefly at zero so you don't accidently start the ship drifting backwards instead of coming to a full stop.
on the other hand, an accessibility option for those with issues holding keys/buttons for extended periods to either enable/disable this function, and/or each tap on the button increases/decreases throttle by 5/10/25%
