bee462Yes this! I don't have the best eye sight and night time can be a little bit of a challenge for me, so I usually don't move at night, or try to sleep most of it away.

Shodan2072They could be turret mounted that fix the position they're facing after the player leaves, so you can aim them where you want them to see instead of having to place them everywhere.

Ded_NikonYes, I also have trouble seeing in the dark. And controllable spotlights would help me. I understand that this will waste FPS, but you can make the limit 1 or 2 and the maximum light distance.

DeLindsayAnything and everything that adds to the building of this BASE Building game is fine by me ;)

Gadget SteelmareIf I were to add my two cents, rather than having a turret-mounted spotlight, I'd say there should be floodlights you can mount anywhere on the outside of your ship that illuminate a cone in whatever direction they're facing. They would be controlled with a button you could hit while interacting with the ship's wheel, just like how you can lock your speed with a button.

Teddy TigerI agree with the previous comment. Maybe use an existing ship's interior light in the upgrade station for an external floodlight you can mount anywhere.

w.moland78 Mergedit would be really nice to have lights to place outside the ship for landing at night or to illuminate immediately around the ship.
or perhaps a mounted spotlight that can be controlled from the cockpit.
in Subnautica, the cyclops has built in exterior cameras and lights that can be cycled through and used to see below, above and behind the sub. perhaps something similar to be able to see below and to the sides of the airship for navigating between structures and for landing?

Quin Tana MergedAbility to add and upgrade a search light that can be controlled from the rudder. This is helpful for nighttime and stormy conditions.

BarranoidIt's actually quite simple...we need more lights! Storms and even simple nights can become quite nasty without proper lighting. A few indoor lights, maybe something on the outer walls and spotlights would make the game far more enjoyable during nighttime and storms. Otherwise one has to simply stand still and sleep or wait until it's over. I mean even the flashlight is kinda weak and it's not helpfull when flying at all.

EZ5902Great idea.
I love flying in the dark not knowing whats in front of me, then seeing a structure appear out of nowhere with only afew secounds to slow down lol.

Technik_Kalityi've been using my landing ramp as a rengefinder/touch stick kinda like a blind person, i put one just beside the helm window, and then when i get the resources for a second, I mirror them, extend them to max range, and tilt them down slightly.
makes for determining exact positioning relative to the landing site easier, and then i can super gently land.
some kind of spot light, especially if the shape/brightness of the beam is noticeable, placing two of them and using their convergence point and/or interference pattern for low distance range finding would be amazing to me. I understand I may be a tad unique in the "do it for realism even if you don't have to" so i'm absurdly careful about landing gently. -

JimThis has been one of my day 1 wishes. Not only would external lights be useful during the dark/bad weather, but airships wouls look super menacing in the dark. (Think Nostromo landing in Alien)

JPN PS5 MergedI would like to suggest adding a feature to equip lights to the front of the ship. I believe this would make flying at night much safer and more enjoyable.
