Make weather a bigger factor
Ground Speed and Air Speed and depending on wind the Ground Speed could be negative. Altitude could also be used, wind speed and direction could vary a different altitudes sort of like the jet stream. In addition climate conditions could be used, right now there is no reason to close the doors or wait for a storm to pass before moving. This could also present another benefit, storms could be used to increase speed by sort of surfing them.

DeLindsayI think this makes perfect sense and I'd also love to see something implemented to have more than just "A Storm is coming" be a threat/factor in moving around.

LWCould be different types of storms
Dust storm - hard to see outside, a colored haze is blowing through. If you spend too long outside you get an infection from breathing it in (or a lowered oxygen buff)
Swarm - moths or bees are coming past. You travel slower and can hear/see them splatting on your windows. Insect catchers have increased yields. If locusts, half your ripe crops will disappear from being 'eaten.'
Acid rain - same as rain storm, just recolor green or red drops or what have you. Health slowly goes down from your skin burning while outside
Wind storm - like OP said. A few types - wind going your way = faster ship (and maybe messes with landing, a bit; controls are extra sensitive). Or wind not going your way, so you go super slow. Or a bluster - flying controls get a bit wonky; if you stop the ship, it'll drift a bit at random as it's buffeted by the wind -

Des The DestroyerI thought of this idea a while ago, but I also believed that you could additional technical solutions to overcome these issues. Things that you can research to upgrade to overcome the problems.
I think that this would give more of a sense of progression for players as they progress.
Dust storm - different viewport/scanner that sees a short distance through the dust.
Swarm - bug repellent
Acid rain - balloon treatment, coveralls
Wind storm - weather trackers
These could affect differently at different altitudes. -

Kfyatec MergedAt the moment of damage to the engines or their weak power, a severe storm also capable of turning the ship around it's own axis and move it to other places so that it sees off course. During it should blow a frightening wind, combined with a bang and fly heavier objects (car wrecks, large dumpsters, dead trees) capable of more serious damage to the airship. The phenomenon should occur rarely or in specific, dark area of the map.
